Copper Nokia 6 to be released in the US in August

Last week, HMD Global announced that the Nokia 6would be officially released in the US in early July via Amazon. Now, we know exactly when the handset will start shipping, and we also know that one of its color variants won’t be released before August.

Amazon says it will release the Nokia 6 on July 10, though this is true only for the silver, standard model, and the black, Prime Exclusive model (which comes with “lockscreen offers and ads” from Amazon). There’s also a copper version of the Nokia 6 (both with, and without ads), but this will only be released on August 18 – so you’ll have to wait more than a month to get it if you place a pre-order now.

Copper Nokia 6 to be released in the US in AugustAs a reminder, the standard Nokia 6 costs $229, while the Prime Exclusive model is offered for $179.99. Both are sold unlocked, and work on T-Mobile and AT&T, but not on Verizon, Sprint, or US Cellular.

Made out of aluminum and sporting a 5.5-inch 1080p display, the Nokia 6 is a mid-range phone that seems to be worth its price. The handset is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor, further featuring a 16 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front-facing camera, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage space, and a 3000 mAh battery. The smartphone currently runs near stock Android 7.1 Nougat, and will be updated to Android O at some point (possibly before the end of the year).
